Lecture IMPRESSIONISTS
Lecture held in Russian.
The Impressionists - artists who changed the course of the entire history of art at the end of the 19th century. They burst a bright storm into classical academism, shocked the public, and then made the audience fall in love with their art forever.
Impressionism is the momentary impressions of artists immortalised on canvases.
Now every art lover knows the names of these great painters, though once the conservative public wasn’t accepting of the young artists at all. We'll talk about how they eupatised the public, what they were inspired by and how they painted their masterpieces at the lecture ‘Impressionists - transmitters of light and impressions’.
You will learn about the origins of Impressionism, the distinctive features of this style, as well as about the work and fates of the four greatest representatives of Impressionism - Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir and Edgar Degas.
